    Google Chrome Leaving Beta

Google’s Chrome, the simple & fast web browser from Google is changing its status to non-beta version, this is a great news from Google, since Google has a knack of keeping its products in beta stage for a very long time (Gmail & recently Picasa), this news comes mostly as a surprise as Chrome is leaving its beta status in just 100 days. Chrome is just not another Web Application but it is a software product that has to compete very aggressively with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (the most dominant web browser), it has to be released in 1.0 version as early as possible, but what is surprising is that there is no news of much anticipated Mac or Linux versions.

I look forward to this non beta release and with great expectation let’s hope that this is ready for prime time.

    How to Download it

You can get the non beta version of the browser directly from Google’s Chrome website, existing users of Chrome will get the update automatically.

Today we announced that with Google Chrome’s fifteenth release, we are taking off the “beta” label. We set goals around improving the stability and performance of the browser, and many of you have helped us meet these goals. We are grateful to the many people around the world who have contributed patches to Chromium (we had our first come from Korea after only five hours), the dedicated volunteers who have filed and triaged bugs in our issue tracker, the loyal users who braved the sometimes rocky dev channel releases, and everyone who took the simple step of opting-in to sending usage statistics and crash reports.

Google Chrome wouldn’t be where it is today without your help. Of course, there’s still a ton more to do, so keep the feedback, patches, bug reports, and moral support coming!

Did the Great Sphinx of Giza started out with a Face of Lion ?

Along with Pyramid of Giza, the Great Sphinx is one of the most studied ancient monument of Egyptian civilization, the Great Sphinx has always been an enigma, the Egyptians wrote little about it and did not leave documented records of its constructions, there have been many theories regarding its construction, some suggests that it was constructed during the reign of Khafre (2520-2494 B.C.), but a new theory based on geological evidence suggests that the Great Sphinx may have been far older than the accepted time period, this is based on severe weathering and erosion were caused not by winds and blowing sand, but by rain.

Furthermore researchers also discovered that the Sphinx’s body and head were disproportionate, suggesting it may not originally be head of a pharaoh, but of a lion which the researcher suggests was later carved into the face of pharaoh.

Robert Bauval, a Belgian construction engineer saw that the monuments in the Giza region on the earth mimic various constellations in the sky. Using his method, archaeology-astronomy and the computer model for stars for 2,500 B.C. and 10,500 B.C. shows why the Sphinx has the form of a lion’s body. He showed that the Sphinx facing east or the raising sun is clearly a marker for the spring equinox. Now Leo is the zodiac sign that conforms to a lion’s body. The sun rose in the constellation or house of Leo during the time of the spring equinox 10,500 B.C. This was also at the same time the Orion constellation lined up with the pyramids and other monuments had aligned with various other constellations.

Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) in some of his trances has stated that Egypt was the repository for records of the alleged civilization of Atlantis, about 10,500 B.C. This repository was an underground library, called the Hall of Records,” that contains the wisdom of Atlantis, he claimed that the Sphinx points in the direction of the “Hall of Records.”
