It has now come to light that Mars Phoneix Lander has discoverd ICE on martian surface; now the question remains can martian ice support life ? Microbes on earth are being found to survive in exteme enviromental conditions such as boiling hot springs, sunless sea bottoms or extreme cold. These microbes species specifically known as extremophiles not only survive these extreme conditions with ease but they thrive at such places.
