Thunderbird 3 Beta 1 Preview Release
Mozilla Messaging released the first milestone preview of “Thunderbird 3″ their email Client, It seems Mozilla is updating its email client aggressively, and making it more and more competitive with Microsoft’s Outlook, This beta version of Thunderbird 3 looks good and the new release has added many good new features including a new database technology, improved search capabilities and more polished client. It seems Microsoft’s Outlook does have some real good competition in the time to come.
In case you are not aware about “Thunderbird”, its a Free, Open Source, Cross Platform e-mail and news client developed by Mozilla Corporation, As of Nov 2008 Thunderbird has been downloaded more than 75 million times.

Thunderbird 3 Beta 1 is now available for download. This milestone is focused on testing the core functionality of the new features and platform changes that will be included in Thunderbird 3. Thunderbird 3 Beta 1 includes new database technology that will make it possible to build fast new ways of navigating mail. For more background and for previews of experimental add-ons

- Tab interface for Mail
- Improvements to IMAP for faster message viewing
